Somatic therapy is body-centered healing, designed to free you from the automatic and habitual ways of thinking, acting, and reacting that sabotage your happiness and fulfillment. Unhealthy patterns such as anxiety, addiction, depression, and interpersonal conflict may stem from thoughts and beliefs, but they are held and reenacted every day in the body.
Through Transformational Bodywork (mind/body dialogue), and massage therapy, I help people release these limiting habits and create deep and lasting personal and interpersonal fulfillment.
Transformational Bodywork is a relatively verbal process, strongly grounded in mindfulness. It can be done either seated or on the massage table, and involves a gentle yet powerful dialogue process between your mind (the conscious part of you) and your body (the unconscious part of you). By working directly with your body, you access the unconscious beliefs that have been determining your behaviors, thoughts, and emotions, then learn how to release these beliefs and integrate a new reality based on deep self-acceptance.
Massage therapy is more physical and less verbal. It's done on the massage table, and can include relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, or energy work. Massage therapy releases restrictions on multiple levels, allowing more ease and joy back into your life.
